Jan’s Diary – SILVER LINING

Recently, my beloved sister-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer. Naturally, our first reaction – myself, her friends and my entire family – was: “Oh no! How terrible!” And yet, there is always a bigger picture going on.

Nancy is instinctively a Giver. During the most recent five years, she has taken on sole responsibility for her aging mother. She took financial responsibility by buying her mother her own home, hiring round-the-clock nursing service to tend to her, and Nancy, herself, visited and stayed with her mother two nights a week so her mother wouldn’t be alone. She fell into a similar pattern of overwhelming responsibility with her aging father: visiting him three times a week, bringing in his groceries as he became increasingly disinclined to leave his home.

She got no help from her younger sister who was herself constantly besieged with health issues and dependent upon Nancy. Her daughter was a similar draining financial and emotional responsibility. Even my brother consistently pulled upon Nancy’s giving nature to make his life easier. And from Nancy’s point of view, she would rather give beyond her own authentic level of energy than say “no” and go through the resulting disharmony. It had become a “peace at any price” life.

She doesn’t do that anymore. To survive, she . . . . .

FULL MOON REMINDER… Tuesday, February 7^th, 4:54 pm – EST is the FULL MOON exact day and time in FEBRUARY! Don’t miss this opportunity to view your life objectively. You will become aware of any underlying frustrations you feel in your relationships.

It is the opportunity to see things objectively that is inherent in the FULL MOON. People often react emotionally during the days of the Full Moon due to a feeling of helplessness. They become aware of the distance between the way they want their life to be, and the way it currently is.

Often, when they see this gap, they become upset. The reflection from their environment shows them a realistic view of their relationships. The feeling of powerlessness comes from awareness of the discrepancy between the way you would like things to be, and the way they actually are. The empowerment is that once aware, you have the chance to change things successfully.

Because this FULL MOON occurs in the sign of LEO, the desire for drama is ignited. You will become aware of whether or not you are receiving the recognition of your specialness you need. It may become apparent that it’s in your best interest to include a creative venture into your routine that adds enjoyment to what is currently happening in your daily life.

LEO rules romance and fun. During the three days around this Full Moon, you can see where you need to make changes in an important relationship to add more aliveness. Once aware of your interaction, how can you best adjust your approach so that you can more successfully experience the play and romance that makes relationships fun?

These are powerful days (2/6-2/9) for reevaluating the new beginnings you made during the most recent New Moon. Re-read your wish list and notice how where you are now is either closer to – or further away from – the dreams in your heart that you would like to manifest in your life.

Given that this Full Moon is in the sign of LEO – opposing the Sun in AQUARIUS, people are likely to react emotionally when they don’t get what they want. There can be an impatient preoccupation with ‘fairness’. The best way to deal with the public during these days is to understand that people are simply lost in their own dramas, and don’t take it personally.

THE ASTROLOGICAL EDGE… February 2012

This will be a huge “good luck” month for advancing your plans and ambitions!

Jupiter in Taurus continues its trine to Pluto in Capricorn all month. As a result, you are likely to be feeling strong, powerful, and more confident than you have in the past. Bright, practical ideas about money and how to further your worldly ambitions can occur to you throughout the month.

Even though your thinking is clear about money and you have practical plans for how to increase your power, Mars is currently retrograde in Virgo, having made its station on January 23. Consequently, although you may feel that your financial situation and professional goals are in balance and you are confident about the wisdom of your strategies in these areas, it may be difficult for you to make a new beginning until after Mars goes direct.

Even though ideas you have for making a fresh start may be on target, it will be easier to put them into effect and actualize them if you wait until after Mars resumes direct motion on April 13. This date marks the start of a more auspicious period for translating plans and strategies into direct, practical, day-to-day action. While waiting for that time to arrive, your best bet may be to put your finances in better order so that you can feel more on top of things.

Saturn in Libra continues to trine Neptune in Aquarius this month. This aspect brings tremendous harmony between the reality of current relationships and your dreams for what you would like them to be in the future. Hence, it may be easier now for you to see how your vision for the future can fit in with the backing and support you currently get from relationships.

This could be a good time to get together with partners and brainstorm with them about the future. However, there can be a tendency during this time to try to manipulate others into accepting our points of view, but that is not the best use of this energy . . . . .

There are times to “go with the flow” and times to take charge. ON THE PATH POEM… COME ON, PEOPLE by Jan Spiller

During the last part of January and the first three weeks of February, the SUN is traveling through the sign of AQUARIUS. Aquarius is that part of us that rules our Humanitarian instincts… an awareness of our brothers and sisters and the importance of looking out for one another. Helping out each other is a key to opening the door to experiencing Love within ourselves.

COME ON, PEOPLE!

Johnny’s trying but he’s getting weak
Pushing his rock up the mountain peak
His rock is heavy – about to break through
He needs some help for a moment or two.
Can you take one hand from the rock you bear -
To help him with his load, his breaking point is near …

Brother, Sister – help if you can!
All that lasts is a helping hand

I did what the songs said and they – in combination with the objective knowledge of astrology and the help of Enlightened Teachers – have made me free. MARS RETROGRADE: January 24 – April 14, 2012

Attempts to launch a fresh phase of activity during Mars Retrograde will be met with outer resistance, obstacles. From a timing point of view, you may not have a smooth pathway in areas and projects in which you attempt to launch new beginnings.

People may resist going along with your plans at this time and coming into alignment with your leadership. This can play especially at work and in promoting projects. Rather than have a smooth road, you will be faced with unexpected adjustments and repeats that will need to be made.

Best use of the Mars Retrograde cycle:
The Soul lesson involved is that of prompting you to turn inward to see how you are beginning new activities with others. Others may not follow your style of leadership as promptly as usual. Thus you have an opportunity to become conscious of your style and process of initiating.
